Linda sat on the toilet seat with her head between her knees. ‘No! No! No! Not again, why now?!’ she screamed at herself.
The panic attacks had first started after she witnessed the murder of her parents at the age of ten from under their bed. The killer was never caught. Fifteen years later and the attacks haven’t let up despite countless visits to the doctor and series of medications. They came strong and sudden and never last more than fifteen minutes but she noticed that they came mostly when she feels endangered or unable to escape. She sighed. That’s exactly how she felt at the moment.
Jack felt foolish. He was sat at his table, alone, staring at the sapphire engagement ring he had just proposed to Linda with. ‘Where did I go wrong?’ he asked himself in frustration. He began to mentally go through his plans:
Expensive Restaurant √
A single rose on the table√
Soft music playing in the background√
Birthstone engagement ring √√√
Even the whole down on one knee proposal he heard ladies loved so much, only to be met with this look of fright and panic on her face just before she dashes into the ladies room. He didn’t need to look around to know that everyone was staring at him. He glanced at the waiter and was met with an apologetic look. He sighed. ‘This is bad’.
