I sit here and I can’t help but reminisce on the good old days when games involved actual physical activity. Waaaay before the era of Temple Run and Subway Surfer. The days where we would play police catch thief, hide and seek, change your style and one of my favourites, ‘Pompi’ I’m not quite sure if that’s the correct spelling but that’s how I pronounce it and I stuck with it throughout my childhood years. It was a game which involves a person being blindfolded and calling out, ‘Pompi’, while the others chorus, ‘yes sir!’ whomever was caught by the person blindfolded will take over. Yeah I know, I played a lot!
I remember a particular day that my cousins, Emma, Amaka and Ebuka, came over and played hide and seek with us. We all hid while my cousin, Emma counted to twenty. The search began once he was done counting. We were all found one after the other and despite my awesome hiding skills I was the first to be found. Due to this development, I quickly changed sides and aided my cousin Emma to find the others. Heehee, I’m bad like that. At the end we were all found except our ‘artful dodger’, Ebuka. We searched and searched but there was no sign of him. Alas, we finally gave up and told him to come out, you would never guess where this guy was hiding, inside an old fridge at the back of the house! #smh
Those days were really fun and I hope we can all remember them with a smile. I definitely can. 🙂
