My friend, Nneoma, graduated recently and as good friends we wanted to celebrate in some way. Me, Nneoma, her best friend, Ella and her roommate, Ebere. So Ella, Ebere and I were in charge of buying the stuff for the mini party which would take place in Nneoma’s room. After going through the list we wrote, we finally settled on 2 litres of Ice cream, cake, fried rice with meat of course, hollandia yoghurt, brandy, burger, bread, shortbread and shawarma. Before you start judging me I didn’t eat everything! I ate just a little shawarma, burger and bread. I didn’t eat the shortbread but I tasted the brandy and ate the other items very well. Few hours later my stomach protested. My stomach protested so much that I felt I was sick. My God! The smell of food scared me and the thought of ice cream made me nauseous. I was switching between toilet and my friends bed throughout the day. My stomach hurt like crazy and I couldn’t put anything in my system. After an entire day of writhing in pain, in the early hours of the morning, I drank water and finally threw up. Mehn, it wasn’t pretty. The regular visits to the toilet continued. What annoyed me the most was the fact that Ella and Ebere did not suffer in any way. I mean, they ate so much more than I did but they neither purged nor threw up, they were even very hungry the next day and ate bread and custard. Their stomachs must have undergone some hardcore military training involving junk food. #smh. I’m much better now but this little episode taught me a very much needed lesson, once your stomach is used to a particular healthy diet do not for any reason think you can go back to junk so easily.
If you remember my previous post, ‘Fat Why?’ you’ll know that for sometime I’ve been dieting and I’ve lost quite some weight. That’s good and all but recently I did something stupid and largely against my diet which I paid for dearly.
